Medical Weight Loss
Can poor sleep make appetite and weight management harder?
Yes. Poor sleep can affect appetite and make everyday food and activity decisions harder. Being tired can also make it more difficult to follow routines that usually work for you. Improving sleep may support weight-management efforts, but it is not a guaranteed weight-loss treatment. NIDDK reference.
At MedFIT, sleep belongs in the conversation when hunger, energy or progress changes. Persistent sleep problems should not simply be treated as a lack of discipline.
Start with a practical routine rather than trying to perfect every aspect of sleep at once.
