Medical Weight Loss

Could a medicine or another health condition be contributing to my weight changes?

Yes. Medicines and health conditions can contribute to weight changes, alongside eating patterns, activity, sleep and other factors. That does not mean every change has a single medical explanation. NIDDK reference.

At MedFIT, we want to understand when the change began, what else changed around that time and what you are currently taking. Symptoms, history and appropriate testing help put the pieces together.

Finding a possible contributor does not automatically mean stopping a medicine or starting weight-loss treatment. The next step depends on the overall picture.

Next: Bring your medication and supplement list, and describe when you first noticed the weight change.
