If I take menopause hormone therapy, do I still need to think about bone health?
Yes. Some hormone therapy can help reduce bone loss, but taking it does not replace an individual bone-health assessment. Fracture history, age, other medicines and additional risk factors still matter. The Menopause Society, NIAMS osteoporosis guidance.
A bone-density test and a hormone blood test answer different questions. The appropriate screening or treatment plan should reflect your overall risk, not simply whether you have a hormone prescription.
