Women's Hormone Care
If I start menopause hormone therapy, how long would I take it?
There is no universal expiration date. Treatment can continue during and after menopause while it provides useful symptom relief, remains medically appropriate and its benefits and risks are reviewed.
Starting does not mean committing to the same prescription indefinitely.
At MedFIT, your first follow-up visit and labs are approximately 90 days after starting medication. Unless your provider directs otherwise, later follow-up visits are every six months, with labs at those visits. These visits provide opportunities to discuss how treatment is working; they are not deadlines for treatment to end. Your preferences and changes in your health also belong in the decision.
Next: Ask Valerie what you will reassess over time when deciding whether to continue, change or stop.
