If I have had a hysterectomy, how do I know whether I am in menopause?

The answer depends partly on whether your ovaries were removed. Removing the uterus stops menstrual bleeding, but it does not necessarily stop ovarian hormone production. Removing both ovaries causes surgical menopause. NHS hysterectomy information.
