Primary Care

Why does MedFIT need to know about medicines prescribed by other providers?

Because medication safety depends on knowing what you actually take. Include prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines and supplements, even if another provider recommended them.

Starting dates can matter too, especially when symptoms or weight changed around the same time.

Licensed prescribers and regulated pharmacies provide important safety checks, but those checks work better with accurate information. Do not assume that offices automatically share every prescription or treatment change.

MedFIT’s medication review does not automatically transfer responsibility for a specialist’s prescriptions.

Next: Bring one current list showing what you take, who prescribes it and any recent changes.
