Pelvic Floor Treatment

How is the pelvic floor chair different from pelvic-floor physical therapy?

They are different services, although both can involve pelvic-floor muscle work. MedFIT's chair creates repeated contractions while you sit fully clothed. Kegel-type exercises require you to actively contract and relax the muscles yourself, which takes focused effort.

The chair performs those contractions while you sit, so that part can feel easier. But pelvic-floor physical therapy can involve much more than strengthening, including an individual assessment and work on coordination and relaxation. The chair and physical therapy are not interchangeable.

At MedFIT, each chair session lasts 28 minutes on a preset treatment timer, with settings for both men and women — the chair is not a women-only service. The chair service starts with a short screening survey and a conversation with Valerie. It does not include pelvic-floor physical therapy or an internal examination. If another kind of care makes more sense, we'll tell you.

Next: Tell Valerie what happens when you leak and what you've already tried.
