Can I compare a new lab result directly with one from a different laboratory?
Not always. Laboratories may use different methods, units or reference ranges. A number that looks higher or lower is not necessarily a meaningful change in your health. MedlinePlus reference-range explanation.
Bring the complete reports, including dates and ranges, rather than just the numbers you copied into a note. Your provider can decide whether the results are comparable and whether further testing would help.
This is especially useful when you move between practices or bring outside hormone testing to MedFIT.
Next: Share both reports and ask whether they show a real trend before drawing conclusions.
