What does a PSA test tell us—and what does it not tell us?
PSA is a substance produced by the prostate. Its level can rise for more than one reason, so an elevated result does not diagnose prostate cancer by itself. It also is not a testosterone measurement. National Cancer Institute PSA information.
Whether testing makes sense, and what to do with a result, depends on factors such as age, history, symptoms and prior findings.
MedFIT is not a specialty urology practice. If a prostate concern needs specialist evaluation, that is a separate part of care rather than something to solve by adjusting testosterone.
