Men's Health
Can low testosterone matter for bone health even if sex drive is not my main concern?
Yes. Low sex-hormone levels can be one factor in osteoporosis in men. Bone health therefore deserves attention beyond questions about energy or sex drive. NIAMS.
That does not mean a low testosterone result proves you have weak bones, that every man needs a bone-density test, or that TRT replaces osteoporosis care.
Your age, fracture history, medicines and other risk factors help determine what evaluation makes sense.
Next: Tell Valerie about previous fractures, any known low bone density and medicines that may affect bone health so these can be considered alongside your hormone evaluation.
